San Giovanni

Light fibre cover, roasts well.  This is an interesting variety commonly grown in Sicily.  The female flowers are white or pink, rather than red.  In warm climates it is semi-evergreen, holding its leaves late into winter until the frost knocks them off or new leaves emerge in August.
Pollinisers:  Campanica; Nocchione; Barcelona; Lansing; Ennis.
